VASER lipo in Barcelona: what it offers and when it is not needed
VASER liposuction (or VASER lipo) uses ultrasound to emulsify fat before it is suctioned. This allows finer cannulas to be used and improves skin retraction, which makes it useful in fibrous areas (back, flanks, male chest), for touch-ups after previous liposuction and for high-definition liposuction, where muscle contours are enhanced. MicroAire is a vibrating cannula that reduces mechanical effort and trauma to the tissues.
Technology is not always needed: with soft fat and good skin, well-performed tumescent liposuction gives the same result. What never changes is the safety rule: liposuction is not a weight-loss method, but a way to correct fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise, with a limited volume removed in each operation.

Risks and complications of liposuction
Every operation carries risks. Most complications are uncommon and can be treated, but you have the right to know them before deciding: they are part of the informed consent you will sign with Dr. Liuzza. For liposuction, the most relevant are:
- Irregularities or waviness: the most common aesthetic complication; it depends on skin quality and technique. The garment and lymphatic drainage help.
- Seroma and bruising: fluid collection or extensive bruising, common in the first weeks.
- Altered sensation: numbness of the treated areas, usually temporary.
- Asymmetry: small differences between sides; may need a touch-up.
- Infection: uncommon; treated with antibiotics.
- Pigmentation changes: marks on the treated skin, more frequent with early sun exposure.
- Thrombosis or embolism: very rare; prevented with prophylaxis, compression stockings and early walking. In large volumes, fluid balance is strictly controlled.
